"When the Wind Reclaims Your Hat"
I heard once that when we see stars twinkle, what we are really seeing is the wind. That wind is one of the few natural phenomenons we only ever perceive through its interactions with other things. The grown of trees, the flutter of leaves, the lean of brush, the swoop of a bird. Or the whip of hair across your face. Wind is the sound, sight, and feeling of Arizona. Wind is tied to my perception of the desert, transforming the landscape overtime and ensuring you carry a bit of that dust with you always. Here, a woman stands facing the wind, as her cowboy hat is blown out of frame, releasing her hair and a cast of hawks into the gusts of the wood grain. The live edge piece of Indian Rosewood serves as a natural representation of the movement of wind currents.
